With the incidence of infectious disease transmission common in hospital based settings and surgery centers, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has determined dental offices are generally very safe and the risk for disease transmission is low. The report highlights that dentistry has adopted the consistent use gloves and protective barriers as well as frequent environmental cleaning, which reduces the risk of infectious disease transmission.
